This wonderful and picture perfect park was built during the British rule and still stands its ground today it was built because of the orders of Mr Cole who was the Commissioner of Assam during that time. This park has been very well maintained and is one of the best tourist spots that Tezpur has to offer.

The park is a mix of what is new and what is old. This contemporary style garden has many amusements that were recently installed by the government to attract more tourists. The bumper cars and the paddle boating are exciting activities to do with your kids. Parents can enjoy the wonderful view while the kids get to have a great time as well. Formerly this garden was known as the Cole Park but now it has been changed to Chitralekha Udyan Tezpur. A lot of nature travellers and tourists come visit this location all around the year.

Two massive adorned stone pillars and sculptural remains of the famous Bamuni hills of 9th and 10th century stand tall in this park. There is also a small water body in the centre of the park that brings the entire garden together. I found a wonderful spot beneath an old tree and started clicking pictures until the sun came down. The winds blow stronger in the evening and the chilly landscape is surely a hauntingly beautiful sight to see. I got a lot of lovely pictures that included kids paddle boating, couples holding hands and strolling alongside the pond and also a few pictures of the ancient sculptures.

This park is also known for the various programs it conducts on its open air stage. Garden also comes with a restaurant. Me, being the foodie that I am just had to try it out! The food was very good and the service at the restaurant is commendable. You should definitely go with your friends or family and have a picnic at this brilliant spot in the city!
